For a fifth consecutive week, the price of diesel fuel at truck stops throughout the nation continued to decline with the average price for a gallon of diesel at $2.843, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

That’s down 1.6 cents from the week before and $1.077 from a year ago last week. Prices declined in all regions, with the biggest drop recorded in California where truck drivers paid an average 2.9 cents per gallon less than the week before.

A fill up in the Gulf States saved drivers an average 2.5 cents per gallon. The lowest diesel prices were also in the Gulf States, where a gallon of diesel averaged $2.730 per gallon, followed closely by the Midwest, where prices averaged $2.731...
